Quote from Bear Grylls
"You can't become a decent horseman until you fall off and get up again, a good number of times.
There's life in a nutshell."

- Bear Grylls, Mud, Sweat and Tears (Autobiography)

SCOUTS New Zealand recognises the effort that our youth and adult members make.

Each youth section has their own award scheme with the Chief Scout's Award and the Queen's Scout the highest awards in the Scout and Venturer sections respectively.

Adult service to Scouting is recognised through an extensive list of awards, the Silver Tui the top award for many years of service.

SCOUTS New Zealand also has additional service awards such as the Cornwell Scout Badge for youth that recognises high character and devotion to duty together with great courage, endurance or gallantry.

Other awards, Award for Gallantry and Award for Meritorious Conduct, for youth and adults, warranted, non-warranted and honorary positions are granted for gallantry and meritorious conduct
