International Events

International Events Calendar

The following international events are being hosted by the Scout Association in the respective countries. Scouts from New Zealand are invited to register their interest in attending any of these events. If you are interested, initial applications should be made through the National SCOUT Centre, and all participants attending an overseas Scouting event are required to complete and submit an Events Application Form.

Scouting is a worldwide movement and here are just some of the opportunities for members of SCOUTS New Zealand to get out into the world. This is where it all starts. These events are the perfect opportunity to meet others and learn about the world of Scouting. By participating in an international event, you will have a chance to get out and encounter the entire world all at once! 


2018

May 

10th Asia-Pacific Region Scout Photo Contest. The theme - Rover Scouting “a pursuit for life”, celebrating of the Rover Centenary in 2018. The deadline for entries is 31 May 2018.

August 

International Rover Week 2018 - celebrating the Rover Centenary to be held at the Kandersteg International Camp in Switzerland between 5 to 14 August, 2018. For more details visit http://www.kisc.ch/events/events-of-2018/international-rover-week-2018/ Cost CHF250 per person. This includes accommodation, meals and activities.

October 

Scout Youth Forum/Conference - 9th Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Youth Forum - October 10 to 13, 2018, and the 26th Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Conference - October 15 to 20, 2018 to be held in Manila, The Philippines.

JOTA (Jamboree-on-the-Air) and JOTI (Jamboree-on-the-Internet) - 19 to 21 October 2018.  The largest annual Scouting event in the world with over 1 million Scouts participating across 150+ countries.  Scouts across the world connect with each other during JOTA and JOTI using the airwaves and the internet. 25th Australian Scout Jamboree - 4 to 13 January, 2019, Murraylands, South Australia. The theme of the Jamboree is "Friends for Life". The New Zealand Contingent Leader is Tony Gray. 24th World Scout Jamboree – 22 July to 2 August 2019. The World Scout Jamboree will be co-hosted by Canada, the USA and Mexico and takes place at the Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve, West Virginia, USA. The New Zealand Contingent Leader is Justin Stewart.

3rd European Jamboree, Gdansk, Poland

Event Dates: 27 July to 6 August 2020

LATEST UPDATE: Applications are now open from any Adult Leader interested in leading a group of New Zealand senior Scout, Venturer or Rover aged members and Adults to the 3rd European Jamboree in Poland. For more information about the role of Contingent Leader, please email the International Commissioner. Applications close on 1 June 2018.

16th World Scout Moot, Ireland
