The Scout Promise

The Scout Promise

Effective from 24 July 2017, the Scout Promise and Kea Promise change.

Our Scout Promise is now:

On my honour, I promise to do my best,
To develop my spiritual beliefs,
To contribute to my community,
country and world,
To help other people,
And to live by the Scout Law.

Te Reo Maori translation:

Te Kī Taurangi Scout (Our Scout Promise)

This Promise is now to be used by all youth and adult members except youth members of the Kea section. The Cub Promise and Alternative Promise for Foreign Nationals have been discontinued.

For Kea Section

The current Kea Motto is now the new Kea Promise:

I share, I care, I discover, I grow.

Te Reo Maori translation:

Te Kī Taurangi Kea (Our Kea Promise)
Ka tohatoha ahau, ka manaaki ahau, ka kite ahau, ka whanake ahau.

Keas should continue to use the motto as they currently do, alongside its use as the Kea Promise.
